How safe is my pet’s procedure?

There are several factors when considering the relative safety of a surgical procedure: the age and overall health of the pet, as well as the level of invasiveness of the surgery. Dr. Todd Mann recommends laboratory blood work before any surgical procedure, just like in human medicine. Blood work results may indicate an issue that cannot be seen with the naked eye during a physical exam alone. Our surgical monitoring equipment is new and continually provides Dr. Mann data regarding their current condition. Upon completion of the surgical event, your pet will continue to be monitored by our experienced staff until they have fully regained consciousness.

No surgery is without risk, regardless if it is considered routine such as spaying or neutering, or is more complicated. The greatest care will always be provided at Mann Veterinary Hospital, so you can rest assured your pet is in good hands.

Why does my pet need a dental procedure?

Did you know that oral disease in pets can begin as early as one year of age? Studies indicate that without regular dental care, approximately 85% of pets will have some form of periodontal disease by three years old.

Without regular cleaning, bacteria begin to collect and harden on the teeth, forming tartar. These hardened bacteria will not only cause disease of the teeth, mouth, and gums, but could ultimately cause permanent damage to the heart, liver, and kidneys.

Dr. Todd Mann has performed countless veterinary dental procedures, and he will bring this same level of care to your pet as well. Regardless of the age or condition of your pet’s teeth, Mann Veterinary Hospital can help them live a longer, healthier life through regular dental care.

What if my pet has an emergency after hours?

Mann Veterinary Hospital does not maintain a veterinarian or staff after our regular business hours. If your pet experiences an issue while we are closed, please call the Animal Emergency Clinic at 256-533-7600. The emergency clinic is located at 2112 Memorial Parkway SW, Huntsville, AL 35801.
