Before surgery, Dr. Mann always recommends running blood work. Blood work can indicate issues that may not be seen by a simple physical exam, and it is important to know so that anesthesia can be administered to your pet as safely as possible. Pain medication is required during pre-operative procedures, to keep your pet as comfortable as possible during surgery. Remember, if it would be painful for us as people, it will be painful for pets. Dr. Mann will continually monitor your pet's vital signs before and after the procedure, including heart rate, blood pressure, and blood oxygen levels. At the conclusion of the treatment, your pet will be kept warm and will continue to be monitored as they recover from the procedure.
